STP Shipyard Palma installs a new self-consumption photovoltaic system on the roof of its new facilities

The project, with a capacity of 12.6 kWp, has received funding under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU

STP Shipyard Palma has completed the installation of a new 12.6 kWp self-consumption photovoltaic system on the roof of its new changing rooms and public restroom facilities. This initiative is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the shipyard's facilities and reducing the consumption of energy from conventional sources.

The project has been awarded funding through the direct grant programme for the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, within Component 7, Investment 2 (C7.I2), receiving a grant of €6,292.23.

The new installation will generate renewable energy for self-consumption within the shipyard's facilities, helping to optimise energy use and reduce the environmental footprint of STP Shipyard Palma's operations.

According to Enrique Galiano, Engineer at STP Shipyard Palma, "This initiative reflects STP's commitment to implementing solutions that improve the energy efficiency of our facilities. Generating renewable energy for self-consumption allows us to move towards a more efficient and sustainable model, reducing our energy dependence and making better use of available resources."

With this new project, STP Shipyard Palma continues to implement improvements focused on energy efficiency and sustainability, investing in solutions that promote more responsible management of its facilities while supporting the European Union's energy transition objectives.
