Motoryacht Ilona's full refit is under way at STP. The scaffolding is now in place around this elegant vessel, built in the Netherlands by yachtbuilders Amels with a helicopter landing pad in her superstructure and a fully retractable system which stows the aircraft in its own fireproof hangar.
Each side of Ilona houses a 9.5-metre tender concealed in its own bay, and a foldaway beach at water level. 65 underwater lamps provide lighting for the night-time. Inside, every comfort that one can possibly imagine on a yacht is provided – even a cinema. Lined on the inside with mahogany by a master carpenter, she can accommodate 16 persons in six guest cabins and there are 13 cabins for the crew.
This megayacht, which sails with an Australian flag, has won numerous design and technology awards, her most outstanding feature being her elegantly proportioned lines and curves. So, naturally, refitting her is a job for highly skilled specialists. STP is one of Europe's most secure and advanced boatyards, which is why it is a site of choice for owners of vessels up to 120 metres LOA wishing to commission a repair and refit.
