STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza support Mini Transat 2025 and qualifiers such as Palma Melilla Palma

The 2024 Palma-Melilla-Palma Regatta concluded on 16 November, proving to be a resounding success in its first edition.

Organised by the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP), the Mini Class, and the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation (RFEV), this 1,000-nautical-mile double-handed race truly put the sailors' physical and mental prowess and endurance to the test.

Each boat was crewed by two sailors responsible for all the manoeuvres and handling during the competition, making this race a really demanding challenge.

STP Shipyard Palma, home to Cristalmina Majorica throughout the pre-race construction and refit process, played an important role in the yacht's success in the 2024 Palma-Melilla-Palma. In addition to being a team sponsor, STP helped with the fine-tuning of the yacht, offering a space at its facilities to ensure that she was in the best conditions to tackle the race. The close collaboration between Cristalmina Majorica and the Palma-based yard ensured that the boat was ready to compete safely and reliably.

Hugo Ramón, skipper and main promoter of the race as a sailing representative at RCNP, underlined the importance of STP Shipyard Palma's support, saying that "the logistical and technical support we received from STP was key to ensuring that Cristalmina was in optimal conditions for the race. This support is vital not just for our performance, but also for our goal: the 2025 Mini Transat".

Meanwhile, Marina Ibiza acted as a base port for the chase boat that accompanied the competitors during the Palma-Ibiza leg and back, guaranteeing safety and logistical support during the crossing.

Thanks to the miles racked up in this race, Hugo Ramón is one step closer to one of the world's most prestigious ocean racing competitions, which will be taking place next year. "It was an incredibly demanding race, both as an organiser and a sailor. Despite the struggles, the most important thing is that we achieved what we set out to do, as in building up the miles needed to race in the 2025 Mini Transat", he added.

The Mini Transat is a solo transatlantic race that tests sailors' skills in an extreme setting, making every mile count as valuable offshore preparation. The Palma-Melilla-Palma Regatta was an opportunity for many of the participants to notch up miles in their preparation for this top-flight international event.

The Palma-Melilla-Palma A2 was rated in its first edition as the most important event on the Mediterranean circuit, anchoring its importance in the racing calendar.

With this, STP Shipyard Palma and Marina Ibiza continue to showcase their passionate commitment to sailing by sponsoring and collaborating in first-rate events that help professional sailing grow in the region.
